PARC – Pave the way to play!
The current Rothamsted Park play area equipment is very outdated and is near to the end of its life. Playpark Action Rothamsted Committee (PARC) was established to help raise funds to create a flagship play area for Harpenden and the surrounding towns and villages. A place where friends and families can come together and spend time.
An estimated £250,000 is required to deliver the project. This is our greatest challenge - although we are getting closer every week! Some funding has been secured and a number of fundraising events, setting out to involve the whole community in raising the funds, are in the pipeline.
PARC is hopeful that it will have funds in place to commence installation in 2020. This is ambitious and relies on the support of the community. The creation of a flagship playground is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with a community project and we need the residents of Harpenden to get on board and support PARC!
To be part of history and add your name to the new playground PARC is offering you the opportunity to buy an engraved paving stone which will form part of a commemorative pathway in the playground. Add your name or a message and see it in the park for years to come.
The pavers range in price from £100 for a basic design to £2,500 for a corporate brick with your logo.
PARC continues to work closely with the local community to develop designs that are inclusive and meet the needs of all age groups. They have the support of Bim Afolami MP and are working closely with St Albans City and District Council.
